the gift of right judgment.

We learnt about the seven (signifying the seven days in which God created the world) gifts of the Holy Spirit on saturday. found the lesson particularly more productive for me personally. we were each given a random gift(on a slip of paper.) which is supposed to be our gift for the week, on which we have to reflect and identify it with an object which we were given by the catechist. From the title and the picture, i shouldnt have to tell you which i got. haha, but i will anyway.
Right Judgment .The objects i could choose from were-a measuring tape, correction fluid or just ANY measuring object. i gave it some thought during the time we had during class, and settled on a glass beaker. i found myself reflecting a lot, during mass even. we were also given a few sentances from the bible, to help us with the reflection. i got 1 Thessalonians 5:19-22.
it says.

'Do not restrain the Holy Spirit; do not despise inspired messages. Put all things to the test: keep what is good and avoid every kind of evil.'

thought about it during mass. read that part in the bible over and over and over again. till it began to speak volumes to me. here're my reflections so far. which i have to present next week.

the glass beaker.
it measures the quantity of a substance. linked to the ability to gauge how much right or wrong there is in an action and in doing so, allowing us to 'keep what is good and avoid every kind of evil' A glass beaker is also open to volumes which have to be measured and therefore it does not despise or reject any inspired messages. in a way. many other gifts come into play. particularly-understanding, wisdom and often, courage.
understanding allows one to empathise and thus decide btwn good and wrong. wisdom is needed.

and courage.

Courage to accept and face what choices we have made as right judgments.

mass today. decided to go to Holy Spirit church for a change. elevn am mass.. bought tix for the St michael's funfair. MMHMM.

ytd! choir and catechism! oh and i watched pirates of the caribbean with my cousins! josh amd sonya. YEA. FUN.
josh is HOPELESS at ordering food. HAHA. omgoodness.
then church.. choir as usual (: mass was a particularly productive time for my reflection, though i should have been listening to the homily. THEN grandma's for dinner. OH, Marc cant get his cat class students to do what they're supposed to. HAHA. i didnt know lionel and colin were in his class. YUP. from today onwards, after each post, i'll ask a qn or two. YEA.
